New Features for artists and fans

Today we’re excited to ship an update to majr which contains improvements and fixes driven by artist and fan feedback.

Deep Links for Artists & Songs
One of the top requests from artists is the ability to easily promote and share their Song Stories with fans, making it easy to dive right into the latest release or remix. Today we’re adding the ability to link directly to an artist and the ability to link directly to songs. We’ve also added a Share icon to the Listen view to make sharing super easy for fans.

Tap and Scrub
The progress indicator is now interactive. You can grab the playhead with your finger and drag it forward or backward in a song.

New UI for Alternative Tracks & Voice Memos
We’re adding a new icon to the Listen view to more easily discover and access alternative tracks and voice memos in a Song Story. The original method (pressing and holding the Play button) has been retired. RIP Tap and Hold.

New Feature in majr: Alt Tracks

Redesigned Playback Controls
We’ve increased the size of the playback controls (Play, Forward, Backward) to make at-a-glance tapping easier and less error prone. We’ve also swapped the placement of the song title and playback controls as a more natural placement for those controls on mobile screens.

Improved Media Experience
We’ve improved how we present images and video that aren’t designed for a phone’s portrait mode. In this release, we preserve the original size and presentation by letterboxing content for improved viewing — making sure fans see artist media as it was intended.

Other fixes:
- Logo loading screen. This also gives us an extra second to fetch all that media so you get a snappier experience.
- Haptics issue resolved when using Song Dial over long periods
- Improved media loading and caching behaviors
- Improved connectivity error when device is offline
- Improved audio ducking when playing secondary audio
